Once your little one has a few teeth, stuff like toast and grilled cheese sandwiches are sooo much easier for them to eat. Combine a favourite cheese with a bit of avocado, and you get a great combo that little ones love! Grilled cheese has been a relatively new addition to the diet, but it’s very easy to make and good for a quick lunch on the go.
Grilled Cheese & Avocado Sandwich (serves 2)
4 Slices Bread (any kind works — just pick your favourite)
4 Slices Cheddar Cheese (you can mix it up and have a couple different kinds to add some variety)
1/2 Avocado, sliced
1 tbsp Butter, softened
1. Lightly spread one side of all bread slices with butter.
2. Place one slice of bread on a plate, butterside down, and cover with 1 slice of cheddar, half of the avocado slices (mash them down a bit) and finally, another slice of cheese.
3. Top with the remaining piece of bread, butterside up.
4. Preheat your pan over medium heat and cook the sandwiches until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, about 4 minutes.
